# Get free credits (https://docs.apparelai.app/billing/free-credits)

You can try ApparelAI on the free plan without paying. New accounts get free credits, and you don't need a credit card to sign up.

## Free plan credits [#free-plan-credits]

The free plan includes 3 credits a month. That's enough to generate a shoot and judge the quality on your own garments.

On the free plan, the **CREDITS** widget in the sidebar has an **Upgrade for more credits** link, which opens **Billing**. See [How credits work](/getting-started/credits) for where your balance shows.

## Bonus credits for your mobile number [#bonus-credits-for-your-mobile-number]

If you're on the free plan and run out of credits, you may be offered free credits for adding your mobile number. The offer is for eligible accounts, such as free-plan users in India.

### Run out of credits [#run-out-of-credits]

When your balance reaches 0, a window titled **Get N free credits** opens, where N is the number of credits on offer.

### Enter your details [#enter-your-details]

Fill in **Name** and **Phone number**. The country is set to India. Change it if your number is from another country.

### Get your credits [#get-your-credits]

Select **Get N free credits**. The credits are added to your balance straight away.

The window can't be closed for the first 10 seconds. After that, you can close it with the **X**. If saving doesn't work, you'll see "Failed to save. Please try again."



### The "One quick thing" window [#the-one-quick-thing-window]

You might also see a window titled **One quick thing**. It asks for your phone number so the team can reach you about your account, special offers and credit pack purchases. It has the same **Name** and **Phone number** fields: fill them in and select **Save**, or close the window. It's shown once, until you close it.

## Free background removal on the website [#free-background-removal-on-the-website]

The AI Background Remover on the ApparelAI website has limited free use, with no sign-up. When your free use runs out, sign in to get your free credits and keep going. See [Remove a background](/ai-tools/background-remover).

## Earn credits by inviting others [#earn-credits-by-inviting-others]

Share your referral link from **Settings** › **Refer & Earn**. When someone signs up through it, you earn 10% of the credits they buy, every time they buy. The reward credits never expire. See [Refer and earn](/account/refer-and-earn).

- Buy a one-time [credit pack](/billing/buy-credits).
