# Motion templates (https://docs.apparelai.app/video/motion-templates)

A motion template sets how the model and the camera move in your video. There are 20 fashion video templates. Below, they're sorted by where they work best: product pages, Reels and social media, campaigns and lookbooks, and websites. In the app, tiles with a play icon show a preview of the motion, so you can watch it before you choose.

The same templates are available in [AI Image to Video](/video/image-to-video) and when you [create a video inside a project](/video/project-videos). If none of them fits, choose **Your own idea** and describe the motion yourself.

## For product pages [#for-product-pages]

Show fit, drape and detail where shoppers decide.

| Template | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Fit check** | Shows the fit, stretch and silhouette. |
| **Seamless loop** | Subtle motion that loops on product pages. |
| **Product spin** | A smooth full turn. Made for product-only photos, without a model. |
| **Turnaround** | Shows every side of the outfit. |
| **Fabric in motion** | Soft movement that shows the drape. |
| **Detail reveal** | Brings the craftsmanship into focus. |

| **Street stride** | Big steps, low camera, city energy. |
| **Summer heat** | A breeze, a hair flip, a magnetic look. |
| **Game on** | Active moves that show stretch and fit. |

## For campaigns and lookbooks [#for-campaigns-and-lookbooks]

Editorial movement for campaigns and lookbooks.

| Template | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Wind machine** | Editorial wind. Hair and fabric in flight. |
| **Campaign walk** | A natural walk. A camera that follows. |
| **Scene reveal** | Pulls back to reveal the whole scene. |
| **Studio editorial** | Small gestures with campaign presence. |
| **Slow orbit** | A gentle arc around your subject. |
| **Everyday story** | A candid, everyday moment. |

<Callout type="info" title="UGC Styling Tip">
Inside a project there's one more template, **UGC Styling Tip**: a creator-style video, with sound, where the model talks to the camera and gives styling advice. It's only available for photos you made in an ApparelAI photoshoot, and it costs 5 credits per second instead of 3. See [Videos from a photoshoot](/video/project-videos).

## Which template for which channel [#which-template-for-which-channel]

Pick the format, length and template for the place where the video will be posted. The last column shows each platform's own upload guidance.

You choose the **Format** in [AI Image to Video](/video/image-to-video), which makes videos in 720p. **Create Video** in a project has no format choice, only the template and the **Length**.

| Channel | Format | Length | Templates to try | Platform specs |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Amazon product listing | Landscape 16:9 | 15 to 30 s | Fit check, Product spin, Turnaround | MP4 or MOV, 1920×1080 recommended (1280×720 minimum) |
| Shopify and D2C store | Portrait 9:16 or Landscape 16:9, to suit your theme | 5 to 10 s | Seamless loop, Fabric in motion | MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 1 GB and 10 minutes |
| Instagram Reels and Stories | Portrait 9:16 | 7 to 15 s | Twirl, On the beat, Walk-up | MP4, 1080×1920 recommended |
| TikTok and TikTok Shop | Portrait 9:16 | 10 to 20 s | Street stride, UGC Styling Tip (in projects) | MP4, 1080×1920 recommended; add natural sound |
| Meta and Google motion ads | Portrait 9:16 | 7 to 15 s | Summer heat, Campaign walk | 9:16 suits Reels, Stories and Shorts placements; show the product in the first second |

Platform specs are each platform's own published guidance as of September 2026. Requirements change, so check each platform's help center before you upload.

Selling on Flipkart or Meesho? Use the product page templates, which show fit, drape and detail, and check the marketplace's seller help center for its current video requirements.

## Which template for which garment [#which-template-for-which-garment]

Motion suits anything with drape and movement, which is why sarees, lehengas, dupattas and flowing dresses tend to look strongest. Good places to start:

| Garment | Templates to try |
| --- | --- |
| Sarees | Fabric in motion, Detail reveal, Wind machine |
| Lehengas | Twirl, Fabric in motion, Detail reveal |
| Salwar suits and suit sets | Fabric in motion, Turnaround, Detail reveal |
| Kurtas, sherwanis and bandhgalas | Turnaround, Detail reveal, Studio editorial |
| Western womenswear | Fit check, Walk-up, Street stride |
| Kidswear | Twirl, On the beat, Everyday story |
| Structured pieces | Slow orbit, Detail reveal, Seamless loop |
| Ghost mannequin and other product-only photos | Product spin, Seamless loop, Detail reveal |

## Write your own motion [#write-your-own-motion]

Choose **Your own idea** and describe any movement or scene in your own words. In a project's **Create Video** window, you type it in **Describe your video**. For example:

- "Slow zoom while the model turns her head and the dupatta lifts in the wind."
- "Close up on the embroidery, then pull back as she laughs."
- "Model walks toward camera, pauses, smiles, dupatta lifts gently. Soft warm light, golden hour."

To change a template only a little in AI Image to Video, keep the template and add a note in **Anything to change?** instead, like "slower camera, turn to the left". Create Video in a project doesn't have this note.

When you write your idea:

- Say what the camera does: a slow zoom, a close-up, a pull back.
- Say what the model does: turns her head, walks toward the camera, pauses, smiles.
- Say what the fabric does, like a dupatta lifting in the wind.
- Add the light or mood if it matters, like soft warm light or golden hour.
- Put the moments in the order you want them to happen.
