Product shots

Create garment-only product shots without a model: flat lays, ghost mannequin views, fabric swatches, saree border and pallu close-ups, and color variants.

Ask ChatGPTAsk Claude

Use product shots when you need images of the garment on its own, with no model, such as flat lay product photos and close-ups. They go next to your on-model photos: the model photos show how the garment looks when worn, and the product shots show the details buyers zoom into.

What you can make

Product shotWhat you get
Blouse Flat LayThe blouse alone on a white background, with sleeve and neckline options
Blouse Front & BackThe front and back of the blouse on an invisible mannequin, in one image
Saree Border DetailA close-up of the border embroidery
Pallu Flat LayThe pallu spread flat, with its full design visible
Shirt Flat Lay & FoldedFlat and folded e-commerce shirt shots, front or back view
Color VariantAn existing catalog photo recolored from photos of new fabric, with the same model, pose and framing
Fabric Swatch and Ghost MannequinFabric Swatch, Ghost Mannequin Front, Ghost Mannequin Back and Ghost Mannequin Side, for everyday garments such as dresses

Color Variant is the odd one out. Instead of making a new garment-only image, it recolors a catalog photo you already have and keeps its model, pose and framing. To recolor from a hex code or color name rather than a fabric photo, use AI Color Variation.

To make invisible-mannequin shots straight from a hanger, flat lay or on-model photo, without a photoshoot first, use AI Ghost Mannequin in AI Tools.

Product shots for everyday garments

Product shots for everyday garments start from a finished photoshoot, in the PRODUCT SHOTS list on the left of the Photo Shoot Result page (see Make a product shot). The list depends on the garment. For a dress, it has:

  • Color Variant: the same photo in a new colorway, made from a photo of the garment in its new color. The panel shows the estimated credits before you start, such as 2 credits for one photo at HD - 2K. See Color variant.
  • Fabric Swatch
  • Ghost Mannequin Front
  • Ghost Mannequin Back
  • Ghost Mannequin Side

Build a complete listing

Model photos sell the look. Product shots answer what buyers check before they buy: how the border looks up close, what the full pallu looks like, how the blouse is cut.

For a saree, one set of photos gives you a full listing:

  1. An on-model hero photo, from Saree Mode.
  2. More on-model photos in other poses, such as Back Drape for the back of the saree.
  3. A Saree Border Detail close-up.
  4. A Pallu Flat Lay.
  5. A Blouse Front & Back or a Blouse Flat Lay.

For every other colorway of the same design, use Color Variant to make matching photos.

Make a product shot

On the web, you make product shots from a finished photoshoot:

Open the shoot

Click Projects in the sidebar, open the project, and click Edit in Studio. The Photo Shoot Result page opens.

Pick a product shot

Under PRODUCT SHOTS in the left panel, click the shot you want. Each one has a one-line description.

Set it up

Color Variant, for example, opens a panel: add a photo of the garment in its new color, choose the photos to recolor under Apply To, pick a Resolution, and check the Est. credits at the bottom before you start.

For a saree, you don't need new photos: the same body, pallu and blouse photos you add in Saree Mode also give you the saree and blouse product shots.

For how credits work, see How credits work.

Check before you publish

Look at each shot before you upload it to a marketplace: a clean background, the garment filling the frame, accurate color, and no visible flaws around necklines and hems. To export at marketplace size, see Download and export.
